Chris Gradel is the Founder of PAG, one of Asia’s largest alternative investment firms with over USD11bn in AUM. At PAG he acts as CIO of its absolute return strategies, which includes managing PAG’s multi-strategy hedge fund, as well as a number of credit funds. Chris has spent 19 years in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to founding PAG in 2002, he led several investments in China for the Marmon Group. This included the buy-out and turnaround of a Chinese State-owned manufacturing company in 1996. He also worked as an Engagement Manager for McKinsey and Company, working with clients across the Asia Pacific region. Chris graduated from New College, Oxford, with an MEng in Engineering, Economics and Management. Chris is based in Hong Kong



From PAAMCO’S inception, Judith Posnikoff has been involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment process, having served as a Sector Specialist for Equity Market Neutral and Merger Arbitrage and Chair of the Investment Oversight Committee. She is currently focused on portfolio construction as a member of the firm’s Portfolio Construction Group, setting strategy and asset allocation for its flagship moderate multi-strategy portfolios. Judy is a member of the founding board of directors of the Association of Women in Alternative Investing (AWAI) and is on the board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and the CAIA Foundation. Judy also chairs the scholarship committee of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Institute



Christopher Wells has one of the leading international investment funds and financial regulatory practices in Asia. He focuses on the establishment, operation, registration and licensing of investment funds and fund-related investment intermediaries, including banks, securities companies, asset managers, investment trust management companies and moneylenders. He also advises multinational financial groups on issues related to regulatory compliance and license qualification matters in various jurisdictions in Asia.

He is currently a co-vice chair of the Executive Committee of AIMA-Japan. He also served as the AIMA-Japan Chair (2010-2013).



Fred Tian, joined in Winton Capital in Hong Kong in 2010 and was appointed Head of China Business Development in 2011. Before moving back to Asia, Fred worked in the financial service industry from 2004 to 2010 in New York, where he structured MBS/ABS products in the Structured Products Group of Goldman Sachs and later led the team at IDC to advise institutions on Asset-Backed Securities values.Fred is a CFA Chartholder and has an MA degree from the Fudan University in China and an MBA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the US.



Guo Tao is currently the Head of Research of Zen Macro Fund, the first macro fund in China. Before that, he was a Portfolio manager at one of the biggest Long/Short Equity Funds in Mainland China at that time. He also won the Lipper Hedge Fund Award in2008. Guo Tao has spent over 10 years in the Fund Management Industry. He has a Business Diploma from the University of Cambridge. Guo Tao has also been a CFA Charterholder since 2004.


Thomas Deinet
was appointed Executive Director of the HFSB in 2008. In 2007, he joined the working group to project manage the development of practice standards proposed by 14 leading international hedge fund managers that led to the establishment of the HFSB. Prior to that, Thomas was a Sr Manager at Oliver Wyman, where he worked with major financial institutions in Europe on asset management, corporate and investment banking. He also worked as an analyst in energy trading for a major commodities trading firm. Thomas, a CFA charterholder, graduated from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, with a major in industrial engineering and has an MSc from Purdue University, USA.
